About Melissa
As a hair and makeup artist, I created bēcome hair and makeup in 2014, following continuous requests to be involved in more weddings and events. So after working in the hairdressing industry in Brisbane for 10 years, I returned to the Coffs coast to pursue my passion.
I am constantly inspired by the ever changing fashion industry, remaining up to date by attending expos and various fashion events. I completed a degree in makeup in 2011 which enables me to provide a more precise and complete look for my clients.
I have been involved in fashion shows in Brisbane including Mercedes Fashion Week, Alex Perry (AEIOU), Scanlan and Therodore. I have worked with GHD and Schwarzkopf in different events. I have done hair and makeup on various models/artists that have been put into magazines, for example Vogue Australia and Inked Australia.
Someone very wise once told me that ‘The day I think I know everything in my industry is the day I should quit’ and I have always believed this. Re-educating and developing skills keeps you inspired and excited, so every year I try and do as many courses and seminars I can. Some of the ones I have completed are, Method 1 and 2 in American Crew, Sharon Blain Bootcamp in Upstyling, Airbrushing courses with hub makeup, various GHD, Paul Mitchell and Swarzkopf courses just to name a few.
